Ford Government Reportedly Considering New Public Health Measures As COVID Cases Climb

Cabinet meeting set for 10 this morning

Word is the Premier will meet with his cabinet this morning to discuss a number of public health measures in light of increasing cases of COVID-19.

Multiple sources tell Toronto media the government has already been presented with several options.

Those include closing schools before and after winter break and return Ontario to Step 3 of the province's reopening plan.

But the sources tell CTV News, the government is not prepared right now to make any major changes.

The government is also expected to make a decision on whether to get rid of the paper copy of the COVID-19 vaccine certificate, and make the downloadable QR code mandatory instead.
