UPDATE: Ford Cabinet Reportedly Debating Even Tougher COVID-19 Restrictions Today

The Ford Government is reportedly debating even tougher COVID-19 restrictions for the Province.

ONTARIO - The Ford Government is having another cabinet ministers meeting today to debate further restrictions to combat the third wave of COVID-19 sweeping through Ontario according to multiple sources.

The Province set another record for daily cases today with 4,736 and an 8% positivity rate. The speculation around tougher restrictions comes at the Province will release new COVID-19 modelling tomorrow. This is unusual as the Government normally releases the new modelling figures every other Thursday.

Ontario's Solicitor General was asked about the Cabinet meeting today and simply said it is not uncommon for the Cabinet Ministers to meet.

Several media outlets claim that the latest data, which is expected to be released tomorrow, indicates that the province could see between 12,000 to 18,000 new daily cases by the end of May.

Sources say the government is looking into a provincewide curfew and increased enforcement of its stay-at-home order.

Ontario may also fine business owners if non-essential staff don't work remotely.
