Federal Party Leaders Promising Increased Reconciliation Efforts, Funds for Seniors and Housing

Canada's federal party leaders had another busy day as the election campaign continues.

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh made a stop in Winnipeg today.

He told supporters that his party would present an urban housing strategy for Indigenous residents that's made by Indigenous people.

In Ottawa, Erin O'Toole told reporters that while his party would make Indigenous reconciliation a priority, he thinks it's time to raise Canadian flags that have been flying at half-mast since the remains of 215 children were found at a Kamloops residential school in May.

As well, during an appearance in Quebec, Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau promised to increase the guaranteed income supplement by $500 for seniors who are single, and $750 for senior couples if re-elected.
