Crews Respond to Early Morning House Fire in Niagara Falls

An investigation is underway after an early morning fire in Niagara Falls.

Chief Fire Prevention Officer Ben Trendle says they were called out to the home Dunn Street, shortly after 3:30 a.m. today.

"We were notified by a passerby who noticed flames. Firefighters from Station 1 and Station 2, which are McLeod Road and Morrison Street, were on scene to battle the blaze. We had approximately 25 staff on scene at the peak of the fire."

The house is located between Stanley Ave and Drummond Road. Trendle says no one was home at the time of the blaze.

"We believe it was a vacant house. There were no injuries reported to either civilians or to any firefighting staff."

Trendle says crews started to clear the area at around 7:30 a.m.

The cause has not been determined yet and they have not found anything suspicious at this time.
