A group of Conservative MPs met with key figures of the convoy protest in Ottawa yesterday, assuring them they have "allies" in Ottawa.

Niagara West MP Dean Allison was among the 23 MPs who met with the group, which included James Topp, a Canadian soldier charged for speaking out against COVID-19 vaccine requirements.

He is currently marching across the country to protest vaccine mandates, and his journey is expected to finish on June 30th in Ottawa, sparking fears of more demonstrations.

The MPs also met with convoy spokesperson Tom Marazzo, Paul Alexander, advisor to former U.S. President Donald Trump, and convoy director Daniel Bulford.

The press conference was held in the Valour Building, just steps from Parliament Hill, and included anti-vaccine and anti-mandate speeches from Alexander.

The office of Interim Conservative Leader Candice Bergen says while they were aware of the event, they didn't organize it.

Other MPs in attendance included Dr. Leslyn Lewis, Martin Shields, Scott Davidson, and Warren Steinley.
