Congressman Brian Higgins led charge against border restrictions between the U.S. and Canada.

New York Congressman Brian Higgins has responded after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau hinted yesterday that fully vaccinated Americans may be allowed into Canada.

Yesterday, Trudeau hinted that American tourists could be allowed into the country by next month, as long as vaccination rates hold.

In a Tweet, Higgins says this is good news for people who have been separated from their families and properties due to the closure.

Trudeau also said fully immunized tourists from other countries could be welcomed into Canada by early September.

The border closure, which was initially set in place in March 2020, is due for renewal on Wednesday.
