Compost Awareness Program Returning to Niagara

You'll soon be able to get some compost for a good cause.

In exchange for a cash or food donation, the Niagara region is providing bags of bulk compost from June 14th to the 19th.

Residents can get up to three 20 litre bags at one of the following locations:

  • Bridge Street Landfill in Fort Erie
  • Niagara Road 12 Landfill in West Lincoln (not open on Mondays)
  • Humberstone Landfill in Welland
  • Recycling Centre in Niagara Falls (not open on Saturdays)

Residents are asked to donate non-perishable food items or cash in support of local charities and follow public safety measures such as social distancing and wearing a mask.

You can also buy a backyard composter for $21 here.
