Regulator says proposed deal would result in higher prices for customers.

The Competition Bureau is looking to block Roger's proposed acquisition of Shaw.

The Bureau says the $26 billion proposal would lead to higher prices, lower quality services, and less choices in wireless services.

The regulator is urging the Competition Tribunal to stop the deal from going forward.

It's also asking for an injunction to prevent Rogers and Shaw from moving forward on the proposal until the Bureau's application can be heard.

The Competition Bureau is one of three regulators that need to approve the deal.

Over the weekend, both Rogers and Shaw said they plan to go forward with the deal and fight attempts to stop it.
