Canada to Add Warning to Individual Cigarettes

A 75-day consultation period is to begin tomorrow.

Canada is set to become the leader in cigarette warnings.

Addictions Minister Carolyn Bennett says Canada will require a warning to be printed on every cigarette.

It's a move aimed at reaching people who often share smokes and don't encounter the actual packaging.

A 75-day consultation period is to begin tomorrow.

Some expanded warnings for cigarette packages are coming as well as the photo warnings haven't been updated in ten years.
