Both events to be held at Battle of Beaverdams Park.

Lots of fun to be had at Battle of Beaverdams Park in Thorold this long weekend!

Canada Day celebrations will include Bumbling Berts magic show, live music by Johnny Max Band and Vinyl Flux, and a fireworks show.

Festivities will kickoff at 4:30 p.m.

The following day, Rock 'N Blues on the Battlefield will take place.

The event pays homage to Thorold's blues legacy and local musician Tim Sinnett.

Performances start at 2:00 p.m. and will include acts such as Figure Four, The Associates, God Boogie super band, Vanessa Collier and Jack De Keyzer.

Both events are free, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs if possible.

"We are excited to bring live music back to the city of Thorold for a special two-day event, Canada Day and Rock ‘N Blues on the Battlefield," says Mayor Terry Ugulini. "We were unable to hold this celebration for the last two years due to the pandemic, so we are looking forward to bringing our community back together to celebrate this special occasion."

The City of Thorold says volunteers are needed to help out.
