Brock University Looking for Youth Participants in Solitude and Well-being Study

Brock University wants to hear from youths.

A research team from Brock wants to hear from adolescents between the ages of 11 and 18.

They're examining participants' preferences for time spent alone, as well as their thoughts and feelings.

"We are curious to learn about how children and teenagers spend their time alone, how they think and feel about other people and themselves as a young person, and their life experiences and overall well-being," says Sandra Bosacki, Professor of Educational Studies.

Online sessions will take place using Microsoft Teams.

Each hour-long session will include computerized tasks and questionnaires, and can be completed at home.

The researchers are especially interested in how mental reasoning skills like being mindful and kind influence participants' personal and social lives.

Participants will get a $20 Amazon gift card for their time.

Parents who wish to register a child between 11 and 18 can learn more about the study here
