Border Announcement Coming

But Trudeau government says reopening won't be immediate

A glimmer of hope the border may reopen sooner rather than later

Intergovernmental Affairs Minister Dominic LeBlanc says he will make an announcing on easing travel restrictions for non essential travellers in the coming days.

But he cautions those relaxed rules may not go into effect right away.

LeBlanc notes they will be phased in slowly based on vaccine rates and declining COVID cases

The current border closure order is set to expire on Monday.
