UPDATE: At Least Sixteen Injured, Ten People Shot at Brooklyn Subway Station

At least thirteen people injured, including ten shot, at Brooklyn subway station.

At least ten people were shot this morning at a subway station in Brooklyn, New York. 

Law enforcement sources say fire personnel responding to reports of smoke at the 36th Street Station in the Sunset Park neighbourhood found multiple people shot and undetonated devices. 

The fire department noting at least 16 people were injured, including the ten who were shot. 

Five of the gunshot victims are in critical condition, but  Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell says there are no life-threatening injuries.  

Police say a gunman filled a subway train with smoke and fired shots during rush hour this morning. 

Preliminary investigation suggests the suspect was wearing a construction vest and a gas mask when he fled the scene. 

A photo from the scene showed bystanders caring for bloodied passengers lying on the station's floor. 

New York City Mayor Eric Adams' office did not immediately release any additional information.
