Another Anti-Lockdown Rally Planned in Niagara

stcatharines.ca

This one meeting with much criticism

Not only is there a call to gather in large numbers tomorrow, despite the provincial cap on crowds, organizors have chosen a much respected and cherished site in St. Catharines, the downtown St. Paul Street Cenotaph.

Community leaders from Mayor Walter Sendzik to St. Catharines MP Chris Bittle tell the Standard, it is an affront to veterans and those who fought and died for our country.

Online posters ask supporters to gather at the cenotaph in Memorial Park with a rally and "freedom" march to follow.

This is the second anti-lockdown rally in the region in recent weeks, the last protest was in Niagara Falls.

Police have charged several participants with violating COVID-19 restrictions on outdoor gatherings.
