A Golden Day at Beijing Olympics for Canada

The medal count keeps growing

This morning Max Parrot taking the gold and teammate Mark McMorris took bronze in the men's snowboard slopestyle competition

Kim Boutin blazed her way to a bronze medal in women's short-track speedskating.

Then Canada pulled off a surprise medal performance in the mixed team ski jumping competition.

The Canadian team of Alexandria Loutitt, Matthew Soukup, Abigail Strate and Mackenzie Boyd-Clowes placed third, with Boyd-Clowes securing the bronze on Canada's final jump, travelling 101.5 metres and scoring 128.1 points

Meantime, an odd start for Canada's women's hockey team in their game today against Russia.

After an hour long delay, players on both teams came out of their dressing rooms with masks on which they proceeded to wear through the game as they played.

The CBC reporting the delay came after the Russians failed to provide Canada with its COVID-19 test results

Last week, six members of the team were placed in isolation after testing positive.

After the delay, it was agreed to send the players out wearing masks as an extra safety precaution.

But in the end the masks didn’t hurt our teams performance, Canada crushed the Russians 6-1.
