150 New Cases in Niagara, First Under 40 Death

Niagara Public Health is confirming 150 new cases of COVID-19 today.

Today also marks the region's first death in the 20-39 age group, bringing the death toll to 377. 

There are 39 people fighting the virus in Niagara Health hospitals, 12 of them in the ICU. 

Niagara has 16 confirmed cases of the variant initially discovered in the U.K.

There are 896 more cases under investigation after screenings detected variants. 

Throughout the region, there are 1118 active cases and 31 active outbreaks. 

St. Catharines has 292 active cases, Welland has 268 and Niagara Falls has 172. 

Ontario is reporting a dip in the number of new cases today. 

The province is confirming 3670 new cases and 15 deaths. 

There are 1016 new cases in Toronto, 613 in Peel, 519 in York Region, 214 in Ottawa and 196 in Durham.
