108 New COVID-19 Cases in Niagara

Niagara Public Health is reporting 108 new cases of COVID-19, and two more resolved cases today.

Due to a system outage yesterday, Niagara Public Health says that today's numbers of resolved cases are underreported, and will be reflected in tomorrow's count.

Our death toll remains at 223, and there are 80 patients battling the virus in our local hospitals.

The region has 1854 active cases, and the highest numbers are in St. Catharines, Niagara Falls and Welland.

There are 53 active outbreaks right now.

Today, the province of Ontario reported 1913 new cases, but indicate that the number is probably higher due to a technical issue at Toronto Public Health.

There were 550 reported cases in Toronto, 346 in peel and 235 in York Region.
