There is nothing wrong with a messy lawn.
According to Brock University professor Miriam Richards, bees actually love areas with long grass, scattered twigs and patches of soil with native flowers.
Green thumbs can help the bee population by making sure they always have flowers in bloom. It's also a good idea to plant vegetables that produce flowers; including squash and pumpkins.
There's 150 different species of bees living in Niagara.
