People in Fort Erie will be able to check out the new and improved Bay Beach next month.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will be taking place at noon on Sunday May 26th. It will be followed by a sand castle building contest.
The year-long construction project made the beach more accessible. They added a new playground, pavilion, washroom facilities, a ramp that leads down to the beach and a terrace deck over the beach itself.
The Niagara Region chipped in $850,000 for the project. The Ridgeway Lions Club also raised over $105,000 for the new playground.
