Thorold's Canada Day celebration is going to span four days this year.

The Rock 'n' Blues on the Battlefield will kick off in Battle of Beaverdams Park on Friday June 28th and wrap up on Monday July 1st.

Mayor Terry Ugulni says they're also offering free admission this year.

"This year we're able to do the whole weekend for free because of generous sponsors like Government of Canada, the City of Thorold, Rolling Meadows, Empire Homes and Walker Industries just to name a few."

The music festival will feature blues and rock musical acts this year; from across Niagara, Canada and North America. You can find the complete lineup online here.

The whole weekend will be family friendly, but Ugulini says there will be lots of fun events for the kids on the Monday.

"After the opening ceremonies we have magic acts, the kids will decorate their bikes for a bike competition, there's bouncy castles and all kinds of things."

The City will also have fireworks display that night, it should get started around 10:00 p.m.
