The NRP is still investigating the murder of Livia Biernes 10 years after her death.

The 76-year-old died after her Oakwood Avenue home in St. Catharines went up in flames on August 4th 2010.

Police say she was bound with zip ties in the basement and was unable to escape the burning building.

She was eventually taken to hospital where she later died.

Officers say the zip ties were the Thomas and Betts brand Ty-Rap Cable Ties.

They’re black, 34 centimetres long and distributors sell them to commercial businesses.

They’re also popular in the electrical industry.

Anyone with information should contact the NRP.
