A man in his twenties has died after a collision in Welland.
Just before 8 a.m. today, emergency personnel were called to the scene of a single vehicle collision near Ridge Road and Doans Ridge Road.
A 24 year old man had been driving a Black Jeep Cherokee westbound, when he lost control of the vehicle and hit a hydro pole.
He was thrown from the vehicle due to the impact of the crash, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
There was significant damage to the driver's side of the car.
The cause of the crash is unknown.
The matter is being investigated by the Niagara Regional Police Collision Reconstruction Unit, the Traffic Enforcement Unit, the Forensic Service Unit, and the office of the Coroner.
