Premier Ford Visits the Niagara Region Today

Ontario Premier Doug Ford toured the Niagara Region today making stops in Beamsville, Wainfleet, Smithville and St. Catherines.

The Premier also made an announcement in Beamsville today of $2 million in Provincial funding for Clean Works Medical to help manufacture a one-of-a-kind, sanitizing device.

This Ontario-made device can decontaminate up to 800 N95 masks per hour along with other personal protective equipment.

Ford was also asked about the possibility of expanding social circles or the bubble. Currently everyone in the Province is asked to stay in your social circle or bubble of 10, your closest family and friends. Premier Ford says this is the kind of thing we are going to have to get used to for a bit.

"I know that's at the health table and it is always coming up, they want to continue on with the social circles of 10 right now. I will ask that question when I get back on the health table, I talk to them almost every day, I will mention that."

Ford says this pandemic is not over.

"My opinion and I am not a medical professional, but my opinion, this is going until January until we get a vaccine, hopefully we get a vaccine sooner, and we have to be on guard with this constantly. We can't take our eye of the ball for one second with this virus, because it will come back and bite us in the back side like we have we have never seen before."

You can listen to his comments from Beamsville today below and he had some really nice things to say about Beamsville and the Niagara Region:
