Ontario Expands Free Emergency Childcare

More frontline workers are now eligible for free emergency childcare.

The province is expanding the list to include grocery store employees, pharmacies, truck drivers, those working in food processing, provincial officers and staff at Ontario courts.

Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff says the government continues to value the critical contributions of frontline workers.

Premier Doug Ford says while these workers are looking after us, we need to make sure we’re looking after them and their families.

Since emergency child care was first offered last month, almost 100 child care centres and 40 licensed home daycares have re-opened for frontline workers.
