Quebec man wanted following planned Audi SUV theft

One man has been arrested, and another man is wanted for car theft in St. Catharines.

After giving fraudulent identification before the test drive, they then stole the vehicle, which was later found in Toronto.

The two were also linked to violent car-jackings in the Peel and York Region.

On Friday, 48-year-old  Michel Pothel was arrested and charged.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 21-year-old Romeo Cyr, who is wanted for the theft of a motor vehicle, personation with intent, uttering forged documents, and possession of identify information for fraud.

He is described as being five-foot-ten in height, 175 pounds, with a slender build, brown hair, and blue eyes.

Anyone who sees Cyr or knows of his whereabouts is encouraged to not confront him and contact police at 905-688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009677.
