NRP Chief Bryan MacCulloch says Police Services Will Continue

NRP Chief Bryan MacCulloch has released a statement, in response to the province-wide state of emergency declared earlier today.

He wants to stress to the public, that this will not affect local police operations.

He says policing is an essential service, so you can still expect to see NRP officers on patrol.

They will also continue to respond to calls for service.

He says the districts will also remain open, but he would like members of the public to practice social distancing.

"Our districts remain open, but we are asking members of the public to consider alternatives such as on-line processes for reporting crime, obtaining record checks, copies of reports, record suspensions, fingerprint destruction etc."
