NPCA Launches New Weather Warning App

The NPCA is the first conservation authority in Ontario to use an app for weather warnings.

The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority is launching its Alertable App to notify people of hazards and disasters.

Alerts from Environment Canada, the NPCA, local emergency officials and Alert Ready would all go through the same app.

Senior Manager of Water Resources Steve Miller says the NPCA can now send flood advisories directly to residents in the watershed.

Alertable was used successfully during the Fort McMurray wildfires in 2016 and the Calgary Floods in 2013.

The app is free and no registration is required.

You can download it online here.
