Niagara Region Holding Battery Drop-Off Contest for Earth Week

Residents who bring batteries to drop-off depots will have a chance to win gift cards for Visa and Amazon

You'll soon have a chance to save some money and help the planet.

From Monday until Friday next week, the Niagara Region is holding a battery drop-off contest as part of Earth Week. 

Each day, the first ten residents to drop off acceptable batteries at one of the region's drop-off locations will get a $10 Amazon gift card. 

As well, all residents who drop off batteries will be entered into a draw to win a $50 Visa gift card.

Bridge Street Waste and Recycling Drop-Off Depot
1300 Bridge St., Fort Erie
Monday - Friday:  8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Saturdays:  8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
 
Humberstone Landfill
700 Humberstone Rd., Welland
Monday - Friday: 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
 
Niagara Road 12 Landfill  
Landfill open to residents of Grimsby, Lincoln, Pelham and West Lincoln. Household Hazardous Waste Depot open to all residents.
Monday:  Closed
Tuesday - Friday:  8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Saturdays:  8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
 
Thorold Yard Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off Depot

On Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, Niagara Region’s Waste Management team will be out in the community to provide education on Niagara’s waste diversion programs. 

Residents will also have a chance to get some promotional items.
