Niagara Health Foundation Receives $60 Million Donation

Donation will be used towards patient care needs, the new South Niagara site and the Walker Family Cancer Centre

The Niagara Health Foundation has received its largest donation in history.

Greg and Diane Slaight have donated $60 million to the foundation.

About $45 million will be used to address priority patient care needs across Niagara Health.

Five million will be used towards the building of the new South Niagara site, and $10 million will support the Walker Family Cancer Centre.

"This gift is made possible by my father, Allan Slaight. His business success and his generosity allow us to make this gift," says donor Greg Slaight.

In recognition of the gift, the Diagnostic Imaging Unit at the South Niagara site will be known as the "Slaight Family Diagnostic Imaging Unit."

"There are no words to adequately express our gratitude for this unprecedented philanthropic donation that will change lives. This gift will positively impact patient care while enhancing the work environment for Niagara Health staff. It is a testament to the Slaight family’s commitment to the Niagara community. On behalf of Niagara Health, thank you to the family for their generosity." - Lynn Guerriero, President and CEO, Niagara Health.
