New Mask Guidelines From Public Health Canada

Now recommends we consider using medical grade masks as colder weather sets in

The agency writes on its webpage "while non-medical masks can help prevent the spread of COVID-19, medical masks and respirators provide better protection”

The updated guidelines also recommend medical masks or N95 respirator type masks for people "who are at risk of more severe disease or outcomes from COVID-19".

Experts say the new guidance recognizes that COVID can be spread through aerosols, tiny droplets that hang in the air

It also takes into consideration the shortage of medical masks at the beginning of the pandemic is now over and they are available to the public to buy.
