Masks Will be Mandatory Across Niagara

Don't forget your mask if you are heading out in Niagara.

Regional Council has approved a bylaw making it mandatory to wear a mask in indoor public spaces.
The bylaw goes into effect next Friday and will last until October 1st, unless it's extended by the Region.
Children under five are exempt, as are people who can't wear a mask for medical reasons.
All businesses in Niagara will be required to have a policy in place that prevents people without masks from entering.
Certain areas covered under other guidelines are also exempt, including schools, hospitals and indoor areas only accessible to employees.
Acting Medical Officer of Health Dr. Mustafa Hirji says now more than ever we need to keep our distance, wash our hands and wear face coverings to take responsibility for slowing the spread of COVID-19.
