Man Charged with Assault, 18-Year Old Hurt

NRP looking for 2nd suspect, after woman assaulted in own home

Police need your help to find a suspect wanted in an assault investigation.

They say it was just before 4pm, on Monday, when emergency crews treated an 18-year old woman in Fort Erie for minor injuries.  She didn't need hospital care.

Turns out an hour earlier, she was driving on the QEW when she noticed a black car following her.  She tried to lose it, while also realizing the driver was a man she knew.

Police say they stopped in Thorold, when they got out of their cars, and she told the suspect to leave her alone.  He allegedly slapped her, and she then fled to her home.

Police say the suspect and another man eventually arrived, forcing their way in, and physically assaulted her, and also with a knife.  Police add she was threatened, not allowed to leave, and her cell phone smashed.

Eventually the two men left.

Yesterday, police arrested 26-year old Sadiek Elmi Said, of Lincoln.  He is charged with criminal harassment, 2 counts of assault, forcible entry, forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, mischief under $5,000 and uttering threats.  He was held in police custody, with a bail hearing today in St. Catharines.

As for the second suspect, police are working on a description.  If you know anything about this crime, call police.
