LCBO Scrapping Paper Bags

Effective September 5th, paper bags will not be available at LCBO stores

The LCBO is getting rid of paper bags.

The company says this is being done as part of a sustainability initiative.

According to the retailer, about 135 million paper bags are sold at its stores every year.

Locations will still provide 8-pack carrier boxes for free, or you can buy or bring a reusable bag.

The LCBO also says this will save about 188,000 trees each year, and will keep over 2,600 tonnes of waste out of landfills.

The change will take effect on September 5th.
