Heddle Invests in Port Weller Docks

The $107-million investment, along with provincial money, will create 30 new jobs

A hefty investment by Heddle Shipyards to its Port Weller dry docks in St. Catharines, bringing 30 new jobs.

The company is putting up $107-million for its Vessel Life Extension work, which will help with engineering, training and new equipment, such as 3D scanning for manufacturing.

Minister of Economic Development Vic Fedeli joined Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff, St. Catharines Mayor Mat Siscoe, and other representatives of Heddle shipyards for yesterday's announcement.

The province is also contributing $3.4-million, for this program that extends the life of ships.
