Fire Department Recommends Keeping Naloxone Out of City Owned Facilities

Distributing the city with naloxone kits is not the answer.

That's according to a report from the Niagara Falls Fire Department.

It says naloxone only works for opioid overdoses; adding the best way to treat any overdose is to perform airway, breathing and circulation support.

It also says fire officials should have not have to carry naloxone kits, because they know how to perform ABC support.

City Council will look over the report tonight.
