Telephone Town Hall taking place to gather input on homelessness issues in St. Catharines
The City of St. Catharines is looking for input on issues surrounding homelessness.
On July 13th, a Telephone Town Hall is taking place from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Mayor Mat Siscoe, city staff, and representatives from the Niagara Regional Police Service, the Niagara Region and Niagara Assertve Street Outreach will be on hand to answer questions.
About 40,000 households will randomly be called, and residents will be asked if they want to participate.
"The effects of homelessness are more visible each day in our city and are on many people’s minds," says Mayor Mat Siscoe. "There seems to be misinformation circulating about encampment practices and how we collaborate with people experiencing unsheltered homelessness in our community, so the City of St. Catharines, along with our regional partners, will connect directly with thousands of citizens to provide accurate information and answer their questions."
