Area Restaurants Join Forces to Persevere

Manager at Doc Magilligan's says they also work with suppliers to fight against inflation

The Director of Food and Beverage Operations of a Niagara Falls restaurant is pleased with how his business has survived the pandemic and current inflation.

Ken Ahern is with Doc Magilligan's, and tells us business is doing well, as they work with their current food suppliers to maintain quality yet at a fair price.

"We go through different places in which we do bulk buying, trying to buy things where we can get a large quantity at a certain price so we don't run out," he says.

In anticipation of what could come, the restaurant built another freezer to store food that was bought at fair prices before inflation crept in.

He adds the pandemic and inflation has strengthened the bond between his business and other restaurants.  "I've gotten a lot closer with a lot of businesses on Lundy's Lane, so I do work with the Blind Pig, Chip and Charlies and Big Texas, and we all try to figure out ways to help each other out."

Ahern says people are willing to spend money for quality food and service.
