44 New COVID-19 Cases in Niagara

Niagara Health reporting 14 COVID-19 patients, including four in ICUs.

There's been a spike in Niagara's daily COVID-19 case count. 

Public Health is reporting 44 new infections today. 

The death toll remains at 440. 

Niagara Health says there are 14 patients with the virus, nine of which are unvaccinated. 

Four of the patients are in ICUs. 

Throughout the region, there are eight active outbreaks. 

Niagara has 220 active cases, including 68 in St. Catharines, 48 in Niagara Falls and 31 in Welland. 

Over 759,000 vaccinations have been administered to date. 

About 78.7 percent of Niagara's population has one dose, and 75.6 percent have two.
